Work Experience

Minimum 7 years of nursing experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or nursing leadership role, preferably in an NABH accredited hospital or nursing home

Job Purpose
This position's main role & responsibility is to plan, organize, supervise, and control nursing services in a NABH accredited nursing home, ensuring safe, ethical, and high-quality patient care in compliance with NABH standards and hospital policies.

Medical Director, Nursing Home Administrator, Doctors & Consultants, Nursing Staff, Infection Control Team, Quality & NABH Coordinators, Pharmacy, Laboratory, HR and Finance Department

Main Responsibility
Main job responsibilities of Nursing Superintendent are as follows (but not limited to):

  • Overall supervision and management of nursing services across all departments.
  • Ensure availability of adequate and competent nursing manpower through duty roster planning and leave management.
  • Ensure strict adherence to NABH standards, nursing SOPs, policies, and protocols.
  • Monitor quality of nursing care, patient safety, and infection prevention & control practices.
  • Coordinate with doctors and allied departments for effective patient care delivery.
  • Conduct nursing rounds, audits, and documentation review regularly.
  • Handle patient and attendant grievances related to nursing care.
  • Organize induction training, continuous nursing education, and competency assessments.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of nursing equipment and consumables.
  • Supervise medication administration, handover procedures, and critical care protocols.
  • Participate in quality indicators monitoring, incident reporting, and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Lead nursing preparedness during emergencies, code situations, and mock drills.
  • Support NABH assessments, internal audits, and statutory inspections.
